Jesus Saves

Let me tell you about the One who...

  • When I was rejected by my birth father, He claimed me and raised me.
  • When I was lost in grief as a child over losing my grandmother, He comforted me.
  • When I dabbled in witchcraft and became exposed to darkness, He rescued me from its grip.
  • When I wanted to end my life, He stepped in and spoke life into me.
  • When I was angry, hurt by the way others had treated me, He calmed me and softened my heart.
  • When I miscarried, He swooped me up in His arms and held me close as I poured out my shattered heart to Him.

There are many more examples of how Jesus saved me from myself, from my thoughts, and from dangers I wasn’t even aware of. No one else has done what He has done for me. The Lord has stuck with me closer than any other friend. He has proven Himself to be dependable, real, honest, and true. I am certain He will show up for you too.

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me.” John 14:6

Who Is Jesus Christ?

John 3:16- “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believes in Him should not perish but should have everlasting life. Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He was born to a virgin named Mary. He came as fully man, yet having the full power of God within Him. John 1:14 describes Jesus as the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us with all His glory as being the only begotten of the Father God, full of grace and truth.

What did Jesus Christ come here to do?

John 3:17- “For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” Since the fall of man in the book of Genesis, sin has been present. With the introduction of sin, mankind was removed from the garden of Eden. Sin created a wedge between man and God. Since the Lord wanted to see His creation (us) come back to Him, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from the grip of sin.

Why does the world need saving?

Romans 3:23- “For All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Let’s talk a little more about sin. Sin is the behaviors and/or thoughts we hold that grieve the heart of God. (Don’t get caught up in thinking you have sinned too much for God because to Him, sin is sin. By the work of Jesus Christ, He is able to forgive us of all sin.)

What are the consequences of sin?

Romans 6:23- “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” So this is where sin gets a little scary. Some sins will lead you to instant death, while others kill off pieces of you over time. Either way, death is the outcome. I have heard many say “Well, we all have to die someday so I might as well live it up while I can.” What sin does is it builds upon the thought we all have to die someday, giving a false sense of freedom that leads often times to a life where one is essentially “walking dead.” That is they are walking around with the weight of their sin to the extent they actually stop living a meaningful life.

What do I have to do to receive the free gift of Salvation?

Romans 10:9-10- “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  What I love about Jesus Christ is how He eliminates the hoops and hurdles. You don’t have to strive to earn His gift of salvation. It is simply offered to you. If you accept Jesus Christ with your whole heart, then it is yours. If you believe He is the Son of God who was born to Mary, then you can be saved. If you believe Jesus Christ was crucified upon the cross and raised from the dead, then you can receive salvation. Receiving salvation is the simple task of believing and confessing with sincerity of heart that You believe what the Word of God says about Jesus Christ and accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ has already paid the cost.
